RV and Motorhome Water Damage Drying

RVs are built with thin wood panels, foam and laminated walls that soak up water fast and hide it well. Hand in Hand Restoration finds the moisture, removes what's damaged and dries your RV, motorhome or travel trailer properly. We come to where your RV is parked across Skagit, Whatcom, Snohomish and Island counties.

Common causes of RV water damage

  • Plumbing failures: fresh water lines, water heater, toilet or holding tank connections
  • Lines that froze while the RV was stored for winter
  • Roof seams, vents and skylights that let rain in
  • Leaks around windows, doors and slide-outs
  • Condensation buildup from living in an RV through a wet Northwest winter

Signs to look for

  • Soft spots in the floor, walls or ceiling
  • Stains, discoloration or bubbling wall panels
  • A musty smell, especially in cabinets and storage bays
  • Peeling or loose trim and seams

How we dry an RV

  1. Moisture mapping. We use moisture meters to find how far the water traveled behind panels, under flooring and inside cabinets.
  2. Remove damaged materials that can't be dried in place, such as wet insulation or saturated flooring.
  3. Dry with dehumidifiers and air movers sized for the small, enclosed space, checked with moisture readings.
  4. Document the damage with photos, readings and a scope of work for your RV insurance.

An RV service center handles roof, chassis and appliance repairs. Call us to talk through the interior repairs your RV needs.

Insurance documentation

We provide photos, moisture readings and a scope of work, and can share them with your RV insurer. Your insurer decides coverage under your policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do you come to my RV?

Yes. We come to where your RV is parked, whether that's your driveway, a storage lot or an RV park, within our service area.

Can a water-damaged RV be saved?

Often, if it's dried quickly. The longer water sits in the walls and floor, the more likely panels delaminate and wood rots.

Do you fix the leak?

We dry and document the water damage. An RV service center repairs roof seals, plumbing and appliances.

What kinds of RVs do you work on?

Motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels and campers.
